Yoga is an ancient practice — ascetics in Northern India used yogic techniques from 500 BCE (some argue earlier) to liberate them from what they feared was an endless cycle of rebirth.

Yoga practices and aims have changed a lot since then and nowadays students come to class for a myriad of reasons. You may want to improve your physical flexibility and cardiovascular health, or perhaps you would like to achieve a heightened state of mental awareness or simply find a sense of peace.
